As a child I've always loved video games. They were always new worlds for me to explore whenever I got bored with the one we live in. Once I reached the age of ten I realized my passion for drawing cartoons and writing stories to pass the time and entertain others. At fifteen I discovered how much I liked music and self-taught myself the guitar. At age six I received plastic surgery on my face after a serious dog bite and all my life I've had fused elbow joints, limiting the rotation in my wrists and giving me the inability to curl my own arms. In a nutshell, I wish to become a video game designer by combining all of these elements but am also mindful of how dire consequences can be if I do something wrong.

Since I was a little boy I wanted a job. That was almost impossible due to the time I had to put toward my studies. I have, however, done community service with Focus: Hope in my years before high school. It was a simple job of delivering food to people, but it felt good to know I was helping someone. Later on in the summer of 2013 I played guitar for a week at a local church for children attending Bible School Vacation. Again, I was moved when my audience asked me about my instrument.
In July of 2014 I obtained my first job at Meijer as a Utility Worker, pushing carts into the store and picking up garbage. It was minimum wage, of course, but the work was fun, easy, and beneficial toward the building of my character. |
There are a few locations that I could never let go of, no matter how hard I try to.
I'm currently in college for a Computer Science degree. For me that means I'm going to learn to program, code, and design interactive media; this means that I've still much to learn. I can use Microsoft Office programs, navigate hard drives and webpages, install and uninstall programs, and have had some experience with command prompts. I can burn CDs and have had experience with music-making software. This too is a new experience for me, making a Weebly. Databases are no-brainers for me, as they're basically libraries on computer screens. Computer games especially are frustrating (they hardly work in many cases) but rewarding when I figure out how to run them.
